We hugged Don, Renee and the kids goodbye and headed towards Tampa. The trip was easy, but long...real long. One of Jewels and my favorite authors is Carl Haiassan. His books are all set in Florida with crazy characters and insane story lines. We saw many spots during our drive that could have been Mr. Haiassan's inspiration. Next time we are down that way I am taking a manatee swamp tour.
We arrived at Tiffany's families beach house just before dark. All of the kids were happy to be out of the car and happy to see their buddies. The house is actually a set of town homes designed by Tiffany's dad. It's a really great place, with fabulous views. I know why Tiffany laughs at Galveston beaches. Thick sand, blue/green water. We even saw dolphins swimming. The kids loved the beach almost as much as they loved the pool (go figure!). We had a fabulous time and hope to visit again (hint, hint!). Thank you Tiffany, Todd, Irene, and Gene (and kiddos) for sharing your vacation. We had an absolute BLAST!!!!
