House Work!

We received a lovely letter from the city telling us our structural permit was expiring and they will have to cut off our "temporary" utilities unless we extend the permit or close it out. We did not pass the last structural inspection because the three back door landings were non-existent. Apparently, your utilities are "temporary" until all permits are closed. Jewels and Bill spent MLK weekend (thank you for the day off!) to finish 2 out of 3. The weather was cold and rainy. Andy helped finish it off on Saturday. The mud remained, but the day was more pleasant.

That's 70s Surprise Party

Todd turned the big 4-0. Tiffany surprised him with a groovy disco party. Most of us got into the spirit and dressed in our best 70s attire. Scary thing - many of us had the items in our closet!!!

On the Farm

The Bertrand Reunion was right after Christmas. Uncle Clayton and Aunt Virginia hosted the event. The day was fun. I think the younger cousins had the most fun!

Cousins range in age from almost 14 to 6 months

Down by the Pond

After dark, Angela's brother built a bon fire. Philip and Joey shot off fireworks and the kids played with sparklers. We had a great time. Thank you for the hospitality Angela and Erik!

Visiting the Scott's in Louisiana

The Bertrand Family had a reunion this year. On our way, we took a side trip to see Angela, Erik and Mark. When they are not living it up in Scotland, you can find the family of three in Louisiana. They have a little "camp" on Angela's family land. Just like every other home I've ever visited in Louisiana, there was a constant stream of family. I'd like to say they were there to see us, but it was really Angela's awesome crawfish ettouffe they were after.

Christmas - Round Four

We spent Christmas afternoon/early evening at the Carter's. Freida made crawfish bisque - yummy! We opened presents and watched the kids play. The little one was entertained by PaPa and his Jack-in-the-Box. Her giggles were infectious.
