We dined on pasta salad, green salad, baked ham, pork roast, mashed potatoes, strawberries and more. A few of the smaller guests ate goldfish and apple sauce (and formula!).

Easter Possums?

We had a visit from the Easter Possums Sunday morning. We figure they were on their way home after a late night of parting - the neighborhood is over-run with the creatures.

Global Warming? Not in our backyard...

In an attempt to heat the pool water (we are all anxious to begin the swimming season) we purchased Solar Sun Rings. According to the literature: Total heat input of 21,000 BTU per day, per unit. Inflatable rings 60" in diameter with 6 magnets each for easy attachment of rings. Coverage should equal 70-80% of your pool surface. (We think we need to buy at least one more ring) Time will tell if the water temperature rises (we'll let you know, AlGore). Last Summer, the pool was never a "comfortable" water temp - though the kids and Jewels did just fine, I don't like to be chilled.

Swim Lessons

The boy completed his 2 week intensive swim class on last week. He is not swimming yet, but will put his head under water, float on his back and jump into the water - all of which are big steps for him. He will begin once a week lessons in April.

Rodeo Carnival 2008

We enjoyed a beautiful Thursday afternoon with our Carni Buddies. Jared figured this was the 7th year since he and Jewels took the two oldest of each clan the first time. This is the first time in 2 years that ALL of both families attended - in 2006 little (baby) girl and I stayed home and last year Jennifer and their oldest were sick. We had a fun time. It is interesting what rides/entertainment that were hits just a few years ago are now "boring."

The Park and Ride buses weren't running in the early afternoon. The "mother ship" proved to be adequate transportation.

We did take the shuttle from the Yellow Lot to the event site.

The two oldest kids have been friends since age 3. Now, both are 10!

Our oldest was excited she passed the height test and was able to drive by herself.

Little girl DID NOT like the older kids doing things without her. We spaced the rides between young and old.

This was the first year the older kids (2nd grade and older) wanted to ride the fast rides. Jennifer was lucky to supervise this one!

What can we do next?

Jewels took Jennifer/Jared's kiddos on the G Force. Our oldest and the other sane adults stayed on the ground.

We had just enough tickets for one more ride. The boy choose the Creep Show (which Jewels at first was the Peep Show and objected)

Some rides just aren't as exciting once you're big... I love the girls' expressions!
