Houston...We Have Sheetrock!

A huge load of rock, mud, tape, and screws were delivered to the house Tuesday. Luckily, Bill was still on vacation (back from Alaska the day before) and was able to supervise the unload. On Wednesday, the guys removed all of the living room ceiling, part of the dining room walls, rest of the kitchen walls, and some walls in the kids' rooms. Jewels and I went over there Wednesday night to clean up (my job is to sweep) and placed blocking for towel bars and such. We would go through the house and suddenly realize that certain walls were missing.

The house was a flurry of activity Thursday. The dry wall guys started hanging right away, the plumbers were fixing the tub drain and water heater gas line. At noon, Jewels and I met with the tile guys - Marcelino and his son Omar. By day's end, 99.9% of the house has a wall. The kids were excited to see their rooms and closets. I am thrilled at the size of my kitchen and utility room!!! All the areas looked small with exposed wood - I was getting nervous that we were not going to have enough space.

Today the plumbers were back over there - I don't know what they are doing today. The dry wall guys will finish the rock and start the taping and floating. We've scheduled Miles AC to come out next Friday to finish installing the system and TURN IT ON! Jewels is calling Logo Electrical to set up the plugs, switches and lamps.
